The McCathern Dallas office came together to collect over 20 dresses for the yearly Comerica Prom Dress Drive. During the drive, new or gently used formal dresses and accessories are collected for girls living in protective care so that they might be able to enjoy the excitement and tradition of the high school prom season.  Everything from casual, solid-colors to sequins and sashes were brought together for the cause.

This program first got its start in 2015. The drive lasts the entire month of February and during that time, five Comerica banking centers serve as a drop-off for dresses and accessories. After the items are collected, Dallas CASA puts on a prom dress shopping boutique on two Saturdays during the month of March. The girls are invited to shop the entire collection and even receive hair and makeup tips from make-up artists and hair stylists. Aside from the huge selection of dresses, gift bags of donated beauty products as well as tailoring services will also be provided for the attendees.

During the first Saturday of the event, volunteers assisted several girls in choosing the right dress, shoes, and accessories for their big night. We are so proud of everyone in our office who decided to partake in this small chance to give back to the community. The excitement and gratitude was apparent on each girl’s faces as they chose the dress that made them feel the most special.  Visit Dallas CASA to read more about the drive and for more information on how to get involved.
