Biography
Attorney Everett Hinchcliffe is a partner at McCathern’s Los Angeles office. He was previously a senior partner with Braden, Hinchcliffe & Hawley and joined McCathern through their merger. Everett served as Braden, Hinchcliffe & Hawley’s Litigation Director, overseeing all litigation and handled all major trials.
Everett has practiced as an attorney since 1974, litigating more than 50 cases to jury verdicts, including complex personal injury, professional liability, and employment cases. In a recent jury trial, he successfully defended a medical practice in a highly contentious and potentially high-exposure sexual harassment and wrongful termination case. His most recent victory was a nonsuit at trial in a high exposure construction defect and fraud case.
Everett’s background includes experience with a large civil litigation firm, handling high-exposure cases, and maintaining his own practice in business and personal injury litigation. He is also experienced in subrogation litigation.
In 1967, Everett graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a degree in electrical engineering. In 1969, he earned his master’s degree from the same university. He earned his law degree cum laude from Loyola University in 1974.
Everett is admitted to practice before all State courts. In addition, he is admitted to practice before the United States District Court’s Central District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Everett is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).
